Articles: ideas, plan, writing and publishing

Articles are where gaps become pages on your site. Each plan includes its articles per month (Starter: 8 · Growth: 20 · Business: 30).

Ideas

Ideas appear after your first weekly check: questions where AI recommends your competitors, and topics with real demand. Open one to see Why we suggest it.

Research a topic lets you ask what your customers ask and get question and article ideas, with sources. It has a daily limit.

The monthly plan

Every month we propose a content plan, each topic with its reason (measured AI gap, Search Console demand, search volume, competitor coverage, buyer intent). In Calendar view, approve, skip, reorder or change the date and length of each topic; drag it to another day to move it. Approved topics are written on their date.

Writing and verification

While we research sources and write, the article is in Being written (usually a few minutes). Articles use your brand voice, verified sources, internal links from your real sitemap, a table of contents and FAQ, and an image in your brand colours.

An automatic verification step flags numbers without a source and lists that rank you first. Articles that fail stay as drafts and appear in Needs your review.

Approval

Needs your review holds what’s written and checked: read it and approve it, or ask for changes. The first 3 articles of each site are approved by hand (calibration) before automatic publishing starts.

Publishing

Publishing needs a connected CMS (Connect your CMS). In Settings → CMS & publishing, under Publishing, choose the mode:

  • Scheduled, with an approval window: articles that pass verification publish live when the window ends (3 days by default), unless you say no. We email you the date with a one-click Don’t publish link.
  • Drafts only: nothing publishes on its own; articles wait for you in your CMS.

Safeguards: only articles with zero verification errors are scheduled; at most one automatic publication per site per day; Unpublish for 7 days after publishing (on CMSs that allow it); and automatic publishing pauses itself if your CMS fails or if you unpublish 2 articles in 30 days. Pause automatic publishing stops it whenever you want.

Once live, articles move to Published · measuring the effect: we measure in the weekly checks whether they start being cited.

Page improvements

Besides new articles, Citable proposes changes to pages you already have (a title, a direct answer, a section…), using Search Console: pages close to the top, with low CTR, losing clicks or not cited by AI. Filter by Page improvements. Monthly quota: Starter: 4 · Growth: 10 · Business: 20. Nothing live changes until you publish it.
