Or get the free report firstOut of every 100 recommendations, how many are yours?
When an AI tool recommends someone in your sector for one of your questions, is it you? Citable counts every answer that names you or a competitor you track and splits the recommendations between brands, so the bars add up to 100. Switch to “Over time” to see the same share week by week.
- Your share next to each competitor, per AI tool and period
- Direct mentions (named) and indirect ones (only linked)
- Which AI tools link to each competitor’s site
The brands AI names that you aren’t tracking.
After each check, Citable lists the brands AI names, or whose site it cites, in several answers across the last 4 checks and that you don’t track yet. Social networks, media, forums, directories, marketplaces and the AI tools themselves are left out. Add one with a click or dismiss it for good.
- Why it’s suggested: cited as a source or named by AI
- How many answers it appeared in, and since when
- Your own aliases, so mentions of you aren’t missed
Every question where AI picks them over you.
The question list marks the ones where AI recommends a competitor and not you, in how many AI tools, and which pages it cites to do it. Those are the topics to work on first, and Citable turns them into article ideas and third-party pages to approach.
- “Competitors win” on each question, per AI tool
- The competitor pages AI cites as sources
- Straight into article ideas and the Mentions board

In an AI answer, there’s room for a few names.
A results page shows ten links; an AI answer often recommends a handful of brands. Knowing which ones, and why, is the first step to being one of them.
Same answers, fair comparison
You and your competitors are counted in exactly the same answers, so a difference is a real difference and not a different sample.
The real competition
The brands AI recommends are not always the ones you compete with on Google. Suggestions show the ones you’re actually up against.
From gap to action
A question a competitor wins comes with the pages AI cited. That tells you whether to write, improve a page or get mentioned elsewhere.
Three steps, then it runs every week.
- 1
Add your competitors
Name and website. You can start from the suggestions made when you add your site.
- 2
Check your aliases
Other names AI might use for you (short forms, an old name) so every mention counts.
- 3
Compare every week
Your share, theirs, the questions they win and the new brands AI starts to name.
- Competitors tracked per site
- Starter: 10
- Growth: 20
- Business: 50
Every feature is on every plan. Plans change how much is tracked and written.

Write to usHow many competitors can I track?
10 on Starter, 20 on Growth and 50 on Business, per site. You can remove one at any time to make room for another.
What is the share of recommendations?
Out of all the answers in which AI recommends you or a competitor you track, the share that recommends you. It’s counted over the checks in the period you choose, and the bars for all brands add up to 100.
Where do the suggested competitors come from?
From the answers themselves: brands that AI names, or whose site it cites, in several answers across the last 4 checks. Media, forums, directories, marketplaces and social networks are excluded. Nothing is added until you say so.
When does a new competitor start being measured?
From the next weekly check. Earlier answers aren’t recounted, so its history starts that week.
Is there a maximum?
Yes: 50 competitors per site on the largest plan. In practice most sites only need a handful to see who AI recommends.
