Get your Wix site cited by AI search.
Wix handles the technical basics for you, so AI visibility mostly comes down to content that answers your buyers’ questions. Citable measures whether AI cites you and publishes sourced articles as posts in your Wix Blog.
Why AI cites (or skips) Wix sites
Wix serves pre-rendered HTML and publishes /sitemap.xml by itself, so AI crawlers can read your pages; our audit expects that when it detects Wix. The question is whether any page answers what a buyer asks an AI, clearly enough to be quoted.
Citable asks those questions to each AI every week, shows who gets cited instead of you and writes posts that answer them, with sources, for your Wix Blog.
What gets in the way on Wix
Citable’s weekly audit recognises Wix and, for each problem, gives you the steps in Wix itself.
01
robots.txt in the SEO tools
In your Wix dashboard, open SEO (called “SEO & GEO” in newer dashboards) → Tools and settings → Robots.txt Editor. The audit checks each AI search crawler and gives you the corrected text.
02
Pages hidden from search engines
In the Wix Editor, open the Pages menu → … next to the page → SEO basics and turn on “Let search engines index this page”. The audit flags important pages with noindex.
03
Titles and meta descriptions
Also in SEO basics, page by page. The audit proposes a title and description from what each page says.
04
Little text to quote
Below about 200 words in the HTML of the homepage, the audit warns that AI has little to understand or cite. Your blog posts are where the full answers belong.
Connect Wix to Citable
Coming soonTakes a few minutes. Every article then arrives in your CMS, as a draft or published on its own, depending on how you set publishing.
The Wix connector is built; we’re finishing the app registration with Wix. It will appear in Settings → CMS & publishing as soon as it’s switched on. Until then, the measurement and the audit already work for your site.
- 1
Create your Citable account and add your site: website, competitors and buyer questions.
- 2
Open Settings → CMS & publishing for that site and choose Wix.
- 3
Click “Install on Wix”, choose your site and approve the app’s permissions (blog, members, media).
- 4
In your Wix dashboard, open Citable (Apps → Manage apps → Open) in this same browser: Wix proves the site is yours and it links in Citable.
- 5
Back in Citable, choose which member signs the articles.
- 6
In the same tab, choose how articles get published: scheduled with an approval window, or Drafts only.
What you need
- A Wix site with the Wix Blog app
- Being the site’s owner: you install the Citable app and open it from your Wix dashboard, which is how Wix proves the site is yours
- A Wix site can be linked to only one Citable site at a time
What Citable publishes on Wix
Draft or live
Arrives as a draft post unless automatic publishing is on. To unpublish, do it in Wix (the API doesn’t offer it).
Unpublish from Wix
The body is converted to Wix’s rich content and the cover image is imported into your Media Manager. Wix requires an author for posts created by apps, so you choose which member of your site signs them.
Fields we fill
- Title and SEO slug
- Body converted to Wix’s rich content
- Excerpt
- Cover image (imported into your Media Manager)
- Hashtags
- Language
- Author (a member of your site you choose)
- Images in the article (charts, diagrams): imported into your Media Manager
Citable on Wix: questions
What people ask before they start. If something’s missing, write to us.
Write to usCan I connect Wix today?
Not yet: it’s shown as “Coming soon” while we finish the app registration with Wix. The connector is built and will appear in Settings → CMS & publishing as soon as it’s switched on.
How does Citable connect to Wix?
Through the Citable app for Wix. You install it on your site, approve its permissions (blog, members, media) and open it from your Wix dashboard in the same browser: that’s how Wix proves the site is yours.
Can I link one Wix site to two Citable sites?
No: a Wix site can be linked to only one Citable site at a time. Disconnect it from the first one before linking it elsewhere.
Can I unpublish from Citable?
Not on Wix: its API doesn’t offer it, so unpublish the post in Wix.
Can Citable promise AI will cite my site?
No, and nobody can. Citable measures every week how often each AI mentions and cites you, with a confidence range, publishes sourced articles for the gaps and shows when a published URL starts being cited.
See what AI says about you before connecting anything.
